Classroom Management
- Rules are established in collaboration with the students. We call our rules “essential agreements”
- Sense of cooperation and responsibility is fostered on a weekly basis.
- Students from Kindergarten to 4th grade work on behavioral reflections according to their age. Sometimes conflicts resolve within the classroom, but if they escalate and are repetitive, parents will be contacted.
- Our classroom has individual behavior incentives and class incentives. Individual students will be rewarded VIP status. VIP students have access to fun, cool classroom supplies and get to help the teacher that class period. Classes will be rewarded with a marble per class if the class is working together, following expectations and complete all work. Grades with the most marbles at the end of each unit will be awarded with fun activities.
- Our school focuses on positive behavior reinforcement as well as Second Step program
